April 8th

I’ve noticed Ben is slowing down and taking everything in. He stares at new people, trying to put it all together. He is slow to smile if he doesn’t know you but once you win him over he doesn’t mind grinning. He has been playing in his Baby Einstein activity center and can now reach the bottom without phonebooks being put under his feet. He has mastered his coordination enough to press buttons that make animal noises and entertains himself with these. He also is focusing on the little things, the tags attached to a toy rather than the toy itself.

He also started stringing laughs together this past week. I can tickle his neck or the top of his thighs and he squeals with delight! Its so amazing to watch him grow each day and do new things. He is better at sitting up but still needs me to prop him from behind so he doesn’t jerk backwards. He walks by himself, putting one foot in front of the other if I hold his hands. He sat in a friends Jumperoo yesterday and jumped and jumped and jumped despite the fact his feet barely touched the ground. He used his arms to propel himself up and down and jumped until he was practically exhausted. He loved it.
